Successful PhD defence - Congrats dr. Pavithrakrishnan Radhakrishnan

On Wednesday January 29 2025, Pavithrakrishnan Radhakrishnan, Ph.D. successfully publicly defended his PhD on Enhanced Characterization of Shielding Gaskets and Board Level Shields for EMC !

After the official opening by the chair, Pavi made sure everyone knew what EMC entails and, more importantly, scared everyone with the dangers of EMI! Giving him the perfect setting to explain the research performed in his PhD research.

Next, Pavi explained how his research was divided into two major parts: characterizing the shielding effectiveness of gaskets, and characterizing the shielding effectiveness of board level shielding. Each part was accompanied by three research questions and solutions.

First the impact of different standards, test methods, parameters, etc. on the measured shielding effectiveness of gaskets was tackled.

Once gaskets were thoroughly evaluated, the attention turned to board level shielding.

After the well received presentation and in depth questioning by the different jury members, the jury retreated for their final deliberation. After a short moment, the jury came back and... delivered the good news: Pavi graduated his PhD and now has to be called dr. Radhakrishnan!

Of course, a public defence is followed by reception to spread the joy to all present. To congratulate Pavi, and to make this event even mover special, the colleagues prepared several gifts for the graduant.
