No successful person does this at work. Ever.

No successful person does this at work. Ever.

You know THOSE people?

Out to dinner. When they're on the phone. When they're in the work cafe. They're always, always, ALWAYS complaining.

Like, always.

It's the worst, isn't it?

I had a colleague like this when I first started out. I like her but honestly, it became too much. I couldn't handle her negative vibes.

I had another friend like this too. Let's call her Emma.

She feels undervalued and under-appreciated, despite all the hard work she does.

She hasn’t heard a whisper about a raise or promotion. Buuuuuut frustratingly, she’s watched John who sits next to her get a bonus AND a raise. Meanwhile, Gina on her team also was bumped up to a more senior level too.?It’s discouraging AF?for her.

She’s frustrated and starts complaining about it to anyone who'll listen.

--"Can you believe it? John - I mean JOHN got a title bump ahead of ME? WHAT A JOKE."

--"I mean, where did Gina even go to College? It's a joke she was even hired in the first place."

All day, errrrrrry day - WOE. IS. EMMA.

She really does WANT to progress through the ranks (like John and Gina).

But she spends all her energy moaning. Gossiping.?Playing the victim.

While she WANTS to be perceived as confident and on top of things. She badly WANTS a raise.

But her current vibe makes it super hard for anyone to think of anything but her bad attitude.

Successful people at work? They're the OPPOSITE to Emma.

They problem-solve.

They see solutions, not challenges.

They get their attitude right - and a lot of the other stuff then flows.

Here’s a secret I’ll let you in on -?it is possible for Emma to circuit break this situation.?Get back on track. Stop the spiral.

If you see shades of yourself in Emma (been THAT complaining friend lately? ??) it doesn't have to be a permanent thing. You can snap out of it too- with help.

We talked about this a little bit today in the Performance Review Bootcamp which had started. (It was AWESOME btw!)

I'm not supposed to share this outside the group but it was such a fun & impactful conversation I wanted to send this?sneak peek of the coaching call . (It's not too late to join us - hit reply & I'll sign you up for the challenge)

In other exciting news - I'm running a free, LIVE, Career Masterclass this week:?CLEAR, CONFIDENT & COMP'D.

You won't want to miss it if you're just not quite clear on your next step at work. Or if you're prioritizing how to get taken more seriously so that you can be considered for the senior roles you'd truly love to be doing.
