There is an age old question are leaders born? or are they made? which do you think is true?
I have the answer, after nearly 30 years of working with leaders across many industries, they are both true. Leaders are born and they are made. What makes a great leader is one who wants to Lead and wants to Learn how to do it well.
Successful Leadership is something that everyone can learn and everyone can adopt - if they want to.
There is a difference between Management and Leadership (without doubt) and someone with the title of 'leader' is not necessarily the leader of the team, business or life - it all depends on their influence strategies, their intelligence (IQ), their principles, their emotional intelligence (EQ), their willingness to listen, communicate and engage. Their willingness to be vulnerable plus so much more.
Many Leaders get to the position without training, some because they want to do a good job and some because it will mean an increase in pay!
Which one are you?
If you are either you have the lives and wellbeing of those around you and who answer to you - what legacy are you creating in your name? are you known as a great Leader and people 'fight' to work with you or are you the person who people moan and complain about?
