Successful Fundraising Dinner at Muthaiga Golf Club

The Proposed Hekima University successfully organized a fundraising dinner at the Muthaiga Golf Club on Thursday, 22nd June 2023 evening. The fundraising dinner served as a critical initiative to secure financial resources for the construction of the proposed Hekima University’s (PHU)?inaugural story building.?The distinguished guest speaker for the evening was Fr. Karl Kaiser, the Provincial of the?Midwest Province. The Vice-Chancellor of Arrupe Jesuit University (AJU), Rev. Dr. Fr. Joseph Oduor Afulo, SJ, and Mr. Peter K. Wairegi, the Managing Director and Corporate Governance Expert at Global Link East Africa Limited and Executive Director and Strategist Executive Director and Strategist at Kenya Professional Realtors Association (KPRA) graced the occasion.

Jesuit universities in the United States was driven by the need to support immigrants, predominantly Italians, Polish, and other poor Europeans who faced exclusion from some educational institutions. The Catholic population and the Jesuits took it upon themselves to establish learning institutions to uplift these marginalized communities.

Fr. Provincial Kizito expressed gratitude to the organizers and all parties involved for their invaluable support, which contributed to the success of the gathering. He also urged participants to contribute their ideas, contacts, recommendations, and strategies for securing funding from individuals or organizations involved in running universities elsewhere. This appeal aimed to leverage existing connections and knowledge to support the PHU's growth.

Additionally, participants had the opportunity to participate in raffles, which offered various prizes. These prizes included Grade 1 (BP1) tea, flight tickets for a two-night stay in Mombasa, 2?return tickets to Mombasa, 2?nights' accommodation in Naivasha, dinner for two at Parklands Sports Club, and dinner vouchers from Windsor Golf Club. These incentives aimed to enhance participant engagement and provide tangible rewards for their involvement.
