Q: Artur, tell us about Vokin and its fund strategy.

Vokin is a Brazilian asset management firm established in 2011, which focuses on generating consistent long-term returns to our coinvestors. To do so, we follow a thorough analysis process based on evaluating each company’s fair value using the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method, including extensive research and getting insights from experienced people of several sectors and industries. In our funds, we adopt a decentralized decision-making process and other risk management measures to mitigate our exposure in macro risk factors and different classes of assets. As of April 2022, Vokin has US$ 437 million of assets under management (AUM).?

Q: What do you like the most about Daloopa and how has that shaped your evaluation of companies?

One thing I really like about Daloopa’s models is the fact that they show me all the line items and accounts that are company specific, and I can easily track the sources of all numbers with the click-through feature. It’s like a magnifying glass that ended up becomes a key piece for us, making audit work so much easier.?

I also appreciate how Daloopa prioritizes expanding its data base, especially compared to when I first adopted the tool. I think it already has more than 2,400 models now, including most Brazilian companies. I love the accuracy and the breadth of the database. It basically allows me to not only run more in-depth analysis on the companies, but also broadens my perspectives on those companies.?

The Excel plug-in is my favorite feature. It saves me so much time updating the models especially during the earnings season. It helps me staying up to date on companies’ financial statements and operational data in a far more efficient way.?
