A Success Story - Video Design Expands its AV Arsenal with 300 Square Metres of ROE CB5 LED Panels

Video Design recently completed the purchase of over 300 square metres of ROE CB5 LED panels to help facilitate what is going to be a big year for the Bedfordshire based business. Alex Leinster, MD of Video Design has been managing the AV production requirements for touring bands for over 20 years, and needed more of the CB5 screen to build on his existing inventory.?

“Our business has seen a strong resurgence since the lockdowns were lifted back in 2021” reports Alex. “The sector saw a dramatic upturn as bands wanted to get back on stage and the public were desperate to get back too, and we’ve been busy ever since”.?

The choice of LED screens can be overwhelming, but the ROE CB5 screens provide the build quality and robustness that can cope with life on the road.?

Alex has worked with Duncan Payne at Adamantean on all of his finance requirements since Adamantean started 7 years ago.

“I had a good relationship with Duncan when he sold equipment, even before Adamantean was founded. Him having a working knowledge of the hardware that I buy has been invaluable over that time and his industry knowledge has helped make my transactions straight forward. I still spend a lot of my working days on set, so often my communication with Duncan is after traditional working hours. He’ll respond at odd hours of the day and weekends which is really helpful.”

The media sector has been a tricky area for the banks to get fully behind for a myriad reasons. Having recognised this, the Adamantean team have visited over a dozen of their funders and presented the benefits of the sector directly to the underwriting and management teams. As Duncan comments, “We’ve visited funders as far apart as Glasgow and Guildford and many in between, taking equipment in to show them what a camera / lens / LED screen actually looks like and explaining the robustness of businesses in the media market, and the core assets that they use to generate their revenue."

Duncan continues, "The Banks have welcomed the opportunity to become better informed about the media sector, and we’ve already seen the benefit of these visits with this deal. The Video Design purchase was a significant sum of money, and it’s not uncommon for a transaction of this size to be split between a number of funders as the exposure would be too high for a single bank. But after one such presentation a single funder felt that they better understood the asset and the sector, and agreed to cover the full amount. This made the whole process so much simpler for the customer and the transaction was completed smoothly with minimal disruption for the supplier, customer, or me as the broker. It was a genuine win / win / win. The goods are now with the customer preparing for a major Spring tour by one of the biggest pop bands in the world”.
