Success Story of Chandrayaan 3 A step towards India’s dream
For millions of Indians, the successful moon mission Chandrayaan 3 is much more than demonstrating the capabilities of desi Science and Technology as it has far-reaching implications in terms of pursuing cutting-edge innovations and technological designs in India for the global market. The nerve centre of cutting-edge technologies in Silicon Valley in the USA has all the reasons to download and accelerate the pace of development of technological design in Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore. India is poised to become the 3rd largest economy by 2030 and it is likely to take over the USA by 2040 to become the 2nd largest economy globally in terms of GDP.
?Chandrayaan 3 has boosted the belief of the people sitting on the fence in other parts of the world to plan and come to India after a decade to pursue their careers in cutting-edge technologies at Bangalore.
Silicon Valley has the distinction to position California’s economy to the forefront compared to the other 49 states of the USA and the economy of California alone is the 5th largest economy in the world. This became possible over some time due to Government-sponsored projects in California and this is how Silicon Valley became worthy of pursuing the US dream for technologists and engineers across the globe. When the IT Boom was reported in 1999, stories were published in newspapers in the USA on the 2nd gold rush to California as California became popular only more than 150 years ago when people rushed there as gold mines were reported in California. Over some time, California made its place in the top economies of the world, thanks to the relentless migration of top brains from other parts of the world to pursue their US Dream.
In all probabilities, Bangalore is likely to witness a similar migration of top Brains from all over the world after 2030. It is reported informally visionary career-oriented persons have already started an informal online course viz., “Passport to India” where orientation exposure is provided on cultural aspects for making effective business and career after migrating to India.
?It is not out of place to mention here that private investment is on anvil for many space programs in India and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has already made its policy to subcontract the projects to desi private companies and Chandrayaan 3 is an example which amply demonstrated the capabilities of the Indian companies which contributed in module and subsystem level design in Chandrayaan 3.
The soft landing at the South pole of the moon is like exposing the hidden talent and potential of Indian entrepreneurs and technologists to take the space program beyond boundaries. Space scientists have all the reasons to use the moon as a launch platform for inter-planet missions as the absence of an atmosphere on the moon is an advantage to this effort. Hopefully, Chandrayaan 3 will find water or ice presence at the south pole enabling the possibility of creating oxygen from water paving the way for setting up space centers on the moon just like countries have setup centres at Antarctica (the south pole of the earth).
??The cost-effectiveness of Chandrayaan 3 compared to similar programs of moon missions of other countries is a key element for deciding private companies across the globe to invest in space programs of India down the line.
The proposed silicon foundry in Gujarat may also find a thrust to expedite the execution of the deals with investment partners.

Indian engineers have already distinguished themselves for their capabilities in designing the software for the global market from Bangalore, once silicon foundry gets set up in Gujarat, chip design will get extended from design to manufacturing in India. Already India has taken the lead in the assembly and integration of smartphones being supplied to the USA and Europe and India has started giving tough competition to China in this segment.
Unlike the Chinese economy, which is mostly dependent on exports for its growth, the Indian economy is more robust due to more demands of internal consumption of goods and services and hence India stands a better chance to absorb the waves of recession and slowdown. Culturally and politically India is more open and comfortable compared to China and all the more reason why resident Indians (NRIs) and others will start moving to India from the USA and Europe to pursue their career in India as savings and comfort jointly make India a better dream compared to the USA.
