Success Steps

Watching a child learn how to walk is such an amazing thing. They get up, fall down. And smile in the process. And then, one day, the magical moment happens; when the first steps of a new human being happen.

As business owners and leaders, sometimes we forget the success path often includes missteps, mistakes, and wrong turns. Failure often starts with one small step, and then the course correction comes down the line.

Success, like a failure, starts with one step in the right direction. Another step towards our goal, and suddenly, it seems to be within reach for ourselves and our team.

As we plan for 2022, what are some of those success steps? Here are some questions I've been talking about recently with clients and colleagues.

-Systems Check: in our business and in our leadership, how are your systems? Is how you are doing things in your business aligned to the results you want? Is each of the 5 key areas of your business working?

-Success Check: what does success (bottom line and beyond) mean in your business? How do you know when you've reached it? And how do you celebrate what's gone well and look to invite even more in?

-Strategy Check: what are the key indicators and milestones you are working towards? What is your strategic goal and plan for the next year? How achievable is it?
