Success with a new approach to making my Kickstarter Videos

Half the work and excitement of launching a Kickstarter project is in the making of the video. I learned so much putting together my first Kickstarter campaign, I jumped into the second project with room for more strategy and creativity.
The previous Goofy Foot campaign video was your typical Kickstarter video with a groove and a fun attitude. At 3:43 the first video had 4,040 play with 8.91% of plays completed. No matter how funny or flash a video looks, the overall viewer retention time is very short. There was no question the next video needed to be a fraction of the time. My new goal was 1 and a half minutes.
Along with being short, I wanted to feed into the nostalgic aspect of the Goofy Foot NES market and hype the video up to 11. With an energy level similar to what you would find in an early NES or NERF commercial from the late '80s early '90s, I pulled the personal story and kept it fun and quick.
With the project at 232% funded and 3/4 of the way through, the new video at 1:42, is currently at 24.34% of plays completed. A nice improvement , showing more people are staying for the majority of the pitch.
