Success is measured not just academically | DAY 3

Success is measured not just academically | DAY 3

Greetings, LinkedIn Education Enthusiasts! ???

As all we know, education is really important not only for kids but also for every individual, however, nowadays, the education system is facing big problems. ISO 21001 Certification is like a superhero for schools and colleges/universities because it helps them get better and gives them the right tools to handle the tough parts of running a school.

How capitalism shaped education,

Here are some of the basic facts we hear every day:

  1. About 263 million kids can't go to school, according to UNESCO.
  2. Even though over 155 countries promise free education for at least nine years, the world's reading and writing skills are only at 86.3%.
  3. By the year 2030, only six out of every ten kids might finish high school.
  4. Shockingly, around 102 million young people struggle with basic reading and writing.
  5. There's also a tricky thing called "capitalism of education " (involving the private sector in the running of schools to ensure that government and institutional aims for education correspond to market needs)," which makes things even more complicated.

ISO 21001 Certification helps schools tackle these problems and become better at what they do. It's like a guide that schools can follow to make things work smoothly.

Let's navigate into core principles in which ISO 21001 exists, each a guiding star illuminating the path to a dynamic and learner-centric educational environment.

1. Focus on Learners and Beneficiaries

Promoting student-centered learning and focusing on the needs and requirements of individual learners.

2. Visionary Leadership

In a visionary educational institution, leadership isn't just about management—it's about inspiration. Competency standards are set, not just for teachers but for all staff, ensuring everyone aligns their efforts with the institution's mission, vision, and objectives.

3. Engagement of People

Think of an educational ecosystem where everyone, from administrators to students, feels empowered and engaged. Continuous training programs ensure that each contributor is equipped to deliver educational value effectively.

4. Process Approach

An institution where every process, from curriculum design to assessments, is a well-oiled machine. The process approach ensures a coherent system, fostering consistent and predictable results.

5. Improvement

Following the principle of continual improvement to sustain growth and eliminate factors that might cause unintended outcomes.

6. Evidence-Based Decisions

Where decisions are not shots in the dark but informed choices based on thorough analysis and evaluation. Here, every move is calculated, and the outcomes are precisely as intended.

7. Relationship Management

Envision an educational organization that isn't an isolated island but a dynamic part of a community. Relationships with students, parents, and stakeholders are nurtured, creating a collaborative environment that propels sustained growth.

8. Social Responsibility

In a socially responsible educational institution, success is measured not just academically but by the impact on society. ISO 26000 principles guide actions, ensuring that every decision reflects a commitment to the greater good.

9. Accessibility and Equity

ISO 21001 Certification aims to create flexible, transparent, and inclusive educational institutions. It focuses on making education accessible and equitable for all, including differently-abled and distance learners.

10. Ethical Conduct in Education

Providing an ethical code of conduct to educational organizations demonstrates an organization’s ability to eliminate incidents of conflicts of interest.

11. Data Security and Protection

In a world where data is king, envision an educational institution that safeguards information with utmost diligence. ISO 21001 provides the framework, but institutions can go a step further with ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 , ensuring data security and privacy.

In weaving these principles into the fabric of an educational institution, ISO 21001 doesn't just certify; it transforms. It's not a checklist; it's a philosophy. It's not a destination; it's a journey towards educational excellence.

So, as we navigate the waters of ISO 21001, let's not just seek certification but strive for a transformation that echoes through the halls of education, shaping the minds of future generations.
