Success Leaves A Trail Of Breadcrumbs

Do you sometimes feel like you are the only person on your journey?

You are not. No matter what direction you are heading, somebody has walked the same path before.?

Success is all around you, and it isn’t happening in a vacuum. So if you’re looking for a path to success, follow the trail of breadcrumbs of someone who is outrageously successful in what you want to achieve. But be sure to pursue success based on your definition, not someone else’s. Each of us has to determine what success looks like to ourselves.

Success leaves a trail of breadcrumbs!

Tony Robbins once said, “Long ago, I realized that success leaves clues and that people who produce outstanding results do specific things to create those results. Therefore, I believed that if I precisely duplicated the actions of others, I could reproduce those same results.”

You may reject the idea of following the breadcrumbs of others and just go after your success. That is a viable option, and it can work. However, it may just take you longer. The way to shortcut some of the valuable lessons you need to learn to be successful is to find someone who has already done it. They’ll be able to steer you through the obstacles you’ll encounter and provide strategies to deal effectively with them.

It's critically important to distinguish between following the breadcrumbs that successful people leave behind and comparing yourself to others. Comparision gives a skewed version of reality and can leave you feeling dissatisfied and inadequate.

It’s comforting to know that success isn’t some big mystery.

Success can be defined in many different ways. To help determine your definition of success, answer the following questions:

  • What do you love to do?
  • What are you most passionate about?
  • What is most important to you?
  • When have you felt truly alive? What were you doing or experiencing?
  • What defining moments have happened in your life that energized or inspired you?
  • What do you want to experience that you keep putting off?

Upon reflection of the questions, did you notice any patterns or themes? If so, maybe you should explore whether you are following the path of your success or someone else’s path?
