Success Has Nothing To Do With Luck or Magic ...

I used to believe that there were lucky people and unlucky people.

That somehow certain people were just blessed in ways that I wasn't and never would be. They had been born with all the right circumstances, the right skills, the right resources, relationships, and connections, etc. They simply had that 'certain magical something' (or lucky charm) that I didn't have that brought them the money, relationships, and success that they wanted.

Like many of us, I was taught to believe that success required a lot of hard work, time, energy, and struggle. And hopefully, by doing all that, I would also get thrown into the 'lucky' heap sometimes. But mostly I believed that I just wasn't one of the lucky, chosen few who got everything they wanted ... and everyone else's share besides that. So for much of my life, that's exactly what I did. I worked so hard and for so long that eventually, I burnt out and suffered from adrenal fatigue, anxiety attacks, and high blood pressure. Just to name a few.

Thankfully in my 40's and now into my 50's, I began to understand a different way of thinking. I began questioning where my beliefs had come from and came to the realization that most of the beliefs we carry around with us we didn't consciously choose. They were genetically passed down and environmentally programmed into our subconscious minds during our early childhood years.

I began to ask questions like:

What if it has nothing to do with random luck or magic?

What if the idea of lucky and unlucky people is all just a made-up construct?

What if all we need to do is understand how to work in partnership with the Universal Laws?

Most importantly I began to understand how to systematically and permanently change my beliefs, which is also having a major impact on the results I see in my life. Today my beliefs are grounded in principles that are as certain and constant as the law of gravity is that keeps us all attached to the Earth as it spins around.

Best of all, developing this way of thinking has absolutely nothing to do with random luck. Or being born with some magical "lucky charm" gene. I know what you're thinking ... thank goodness, right? ;-)
