Success at the first Black Country Chamber Your Future Careers Fair at Q3 Academy

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce held their first Your Future Careers Fairs which was a great success with 27 stands on show to the young people at Q3 Academy. We invited young people aged 14-24 to attend our Your Future Careers Fair on Thursday 3rd December in the evening. This event was free to attend and gave young people a chance to meet a variety of further education providers, training providers, apprenticeship supporters and local businesses offering advice and guidance.

Your Future Careers Fairs is a government funded national project to deliver 250 events through Chambers of Commerce, attracting over 70,000 young people across England.

The aim of Your Future Careers Fairs is to inspire, enthuse and motivate young people aged 14-24, encouraging them to actively think about their future career progression, the employment options available to them and to make the most of their remaining time in education.

These Careers Fairs offer young people the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of local businesses and training providers, offering direct access to quality support and advice relating to career options. Activities will be taking place throughout each of our Careers Fairs, which will be led by the businesses and training providers in attendance.

Ninder Johal, Black Country Chamber of Commerce President, commented: “We are delighted with the feedback from our first event. The young people and stand holders that attended found it inspirational. We would now like to announce our next Your Future Careers Fair at the Molineux Stadium on 4th February. I would encourage all local schools and colleges to engage with this free event, we have lots of great businesses already signed up to share their invaluable experiences with the next generation.”

We would like to thank Q3 Academy for their continued support of the Black Country Chamber and their passion to help young people with their future ambitions. If you are a school or young person that would like to get involved please contact Catrin Guy on 01902 912305 or email [email protected].
