SUCCESS IS DIFFERENT THINGS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE

?My idea of success is helping others to transform their lives for the better - taking them from ordinary to extraordinary.

However, in my journey I have realized that success means different thing to different people.?Some people can only think of having a roof over their head, food on the table and a job to go to until they retire.?They can’t think much further than that until retirement day arrives and then they realize that maybe they could have done so much more with their lives.?

?In the year 1900 the average life expectancy was?47 years old.

In 2000 it was 76.

Nowadays many people will live to over 100 so this puts a whole new twist on life.

In your youth you learn.

In middle age you earn.

And at the end of your life, you return.

?If you retire at 60 you could probably live for another 40 to 50 years. What are you going to do in this time to fill the time and be both productive and successful? You need to realize that your health is your wealth as you don’t want to spend 40 years working only to spend the next 40 using that money to keep yourself alive.

?Some people use retirement to do all the things they always thought they wanted to do, but travelling the world when you are old is very different from travelling in your youth.?

Having lots of possessions in your later years doesn’t seem half as important as when you first acquired?them. In fact they often become more of a burden than anything else. You really wish you had decluttered along the way as it’s heart rending to give away all those super possessions you?accumulated after a lifetime of hard work, to people who don’t really value them.

I think the fallacy is that success is in things when it’s really in the mind.?The success of my life has paled by comparison to the number of people I have been able to mentor and help to achieve their goals. I see success and happiness in my life only when I can see it in the lives of others.
