I used to live my life normally, happiest for what I have got, and I am going on my way to achieve my dreams. I am living each day with so much satisfaction for God. However, when Instagram suggested a couple of videos and photos of people I knew from 6 years ago and I saw how far they have come in their lives, I was happy for them but really sad for myself. I feel like I haven't made much progress in the past 6 years despite working hard. I am still earning the same salary, and my business hasn't yielded a return on investment. Why can't I reach the level of success that everyone around me seems to be achieving? What's wrong with me?I used to know high-profile people who were at the same level as me a few years ago, and although I worked just as hard as them, we ended up in two different places. If it's about hard work, I am already a hard worker. If it's about luck, I don't believe in it. So many questions keep coming to my mind not about them, but about me. What if I am taking the wrong path? What if my efforts won't pay off?Can we control our destinies? Some people dream of attending Harvard and make it happen because they work for it, while others work equally hard but end up somewhere else. Some people dream without putting in the effort. Why do some hard workers not end up in the same place? Do all our goals and vision boards come true? Is the path we set for ourselves guaranteed to lead to success? We plan and work towards our goals, but nothing guarantees that our hard work will pay off. It's a difficult question to answer, but what I believe in is enjoying the process without fixating on the results. I find joy in working and learning every day, and I am happy and content with that. If my efforts pay off, it will be a reward; if they don't, I won't let it make my life miserable because I couldn't achieve what my high-level friends did.Everyone has a different path. Even if you started at the same point as someone else, you may end up in different places. Not everything is within your control; you do what you can, but you can't guarantee success. It's all in God's hands, and no one knows what is written. God's plans are always the best, even if we reject them at first.
