Success is Best when Shared

I regularly send quarterly update emails to a very, very small subset of my community (487 people) - it's just .5% of the people on my company's email list. The most recent one I sent sparked the most conversation of any of my quarterly rants. This episode of Personal Brand Boost is a excerpt from that email.
As I reflect on the past 20+ years—the entrepreneurial chapter of my journey that followed a fun career in corporate branding—I am filled with gratitude. Teaching and mentoring professionals to achieve fulfillment and success has been (and continues to be) an exhilarating experience.
But success isn't a solo act; It comes with a rousing challenge. I stumbled upon a four-word directive that sums it up perfectly:
"Lift as you climb" was coined by the remarkable Mary Church Terrell , a beacon of education and civil rights, and a pioneer of the National Association of Colored Women. These words have become my mantra.
When we fully integrate our authentic selves in our professional lives, we create waves of positive change. That's the transformative power of personal branding.
Making “Lift as you climb” an integral part of how you work is a simple 3-step process:
Step 1: Who will you bring on this ascent with you?
My response: There are so many groups I am committed to supporting. One group I’m focused on right now is coaches—who create impact with each meaningful conversation they have.
Step 2: How will you elevate them?
My response: In 2024, I'm leading the ICF Business Development Series alongside the stellar ICF L&D team, poised to revolutionize how coaches magnify their business success and client impact.
Step 3: What impact do you want to create?
My response: I’d love to have data to measure the impact. For now, I have a collection of stories of coaches who have built wildly successful practices and helped countless numbers of professionals.
Forget the Scale and the Treadmill
Those resolutions that we made at the beginning of the year have likely been forgotten. What if, instead of resolutions, you make a commitment to yourself to lift as you climb?
How would that change your daily work activities?
How would it influence those around you?
What impact could you create over the next three quarters of 2024?
P.S. If you know a coach who is ready to make their coaching practice soar, let them know about the ICF Business Development Series .?

7 个月Your mantra, echoing the words of Mary Church Terrell, “Lift as you climb" is already a belief, and will now intentionally become my mantra too. Thank you, William. Your two courses also sound fantastic - through ICF.
