The Subway Wedding
- Open on a bridal shop. There are two women. One slightly overweight Caucasian woman is trying on a wedding dress. The other is an Asian woman in business casual attire. There is a bridal attendant who is trying to zip up the back of the dress but the zipper won’t budge.
- Caucasian woman turns to the Asian woman. “Three more months to the wedding. I better be able to fit into this dress…for Danny,” she says. “I’ve put in so much work at the gym. I’ve been trying to eat healthier.”
- The Asian woman puts her hand on white woman’s shoulder. “As your maid of honor, I love you and I’m here to keep you on track.”
- “There’s got to be a better way,” the Caucasian woman says nearly in tears.
- “Well there is… the Sub-way,” the Asian woman says. She opens the Subway app. “With the new Subway app you can choose any item like spinach, scan a QR code and it’ll show you how many calories you’re consuming, and even what farm, row, and plant the spinach you’re eating comes from.”
- - The Caucasian woman and Danny are standing side by side at their wedding reception. The Caucasian woman is noticeably thinner. The reception is catered by Subway; seen as partially unwrapped sandwiches in front of them. They bridge and groom are standing and the bride is about to speak.
- “I want to thank you all for coming today,” the bride says. “I want to thank you, my loving husband, for being you.”
- The frame zooms out a bit to show a bit more of the room. The maid of honor is visible in a light red bride’s maid dress. “I also want to thank my dear friend and maid of honor Tina,” the bride says practically glowing with joy. “You stuck by me and you and Subway helped me fit into this dress.”
- “You look beautiful, honey,” Danny says to the bride, gazing deeply into her eyes. The frame shows them at ? profile standing behind their table, and two partially unwrapped Subway sandwiches on the table in front of them.
