Going through my notes, I noticed the list of interesting things that came my way this week was... limited. Sure, Beyoncè sponsored Kamala at her rally, and Patti Lupone is trending on TikTok because of the incredible last episode of Agatha All Along. But my mind was just... elsewhere.
Maybe it was because I spent too much time obsessing about Lady Gaga's stellar return to pop music (and watching the overwhelmingly positive fan reactions), or maybe because I simply spent the other half of my free time researching a good Halloween costume for all the parties I have to go to.
In any case, here's the quick and dirty list of the things that caught my attention this week.
RIHANNA IS THE SOCCER MOM
Rihanna partnered with PUMA for a new edition of their Avanti Sneakers (FENTY X PUMA ), and the marketing is just genius. In a press conference run by Recess Therapy (the guy who famously interviewed the kid who loved corn ), the internet's favorite children got to ask Rihanna their burning questions.
The video content, titled Soccer Mom, comes from Rihanna's inspiration for the new line, which caters to every age and gender, by showcasing her love for her kids and how she wishes to be a soccer mom who takes her kids to practice.
Cute and original, it is an A-OK from me.
THE NEW IT BOY
Make-up for men is not taboo anymore (thank god, because I suffer from Sabrina Carpenter's blush blindness disease).
But there is a certain French TikToker in town who is kind of amping the ante and teaching men to beat their mugs well: Bach Buquen is not a newcomer, but when he started his subway tutorial videos, aptly named "Normalizing make-up for men in public", his account skyrocketed.
With 6.2 Million followers on TikTok, and over 3 Million on Instagram, his most known public make-up tutorial has upwards of 20 Million views and 2.6 Million likes.
It is worth noting, that unlike other MUA male artists, Bach identifies as straight.
Since adopting make-up tutorials over dances and lipsyncs, Bach has also seen a rise in media interest, with features on BoF , Interview Magazine, and Paper Magazine.
And since we're Halloween shopping, how about some tutorials for men's costumes?
WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS
There is a clever new trend cracking up social media users. Have you heard of Subtle Foreshadowing?

The trend on TikTok sees users taking a video, mostly a fail video, and editing it in a way that showcases, unashamedly, the video's ending spliced throughout.
It provides a great platform for brands that want to recycle some of their videos in a fun, trendy way, but also provides a great reason to create "spoiler" videos about routines, fails, and anything really, that can be spoiled, with a little bit of tongue-in-cheek fun.
POWERPUFF GIRLS
It is not every day that we get to see our favorite meme become a reality, but fans of pop music everywhere were overjoyed when Primavera Sound announced their 2025 line-up, and Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX and Chappell Roan were all featured as headliners.
Because 2024 was dominated by these three pop girls, the internet has been abuzz over the last months with memes comparing them to a real-life version of the PowerPuff Girls. Charli was even quick to react to the news on X, sending fans into overdrive.
Right after the announcement of the line-up, the festival was quick to upload fan reactions to their feed, and can we all say we are secretly hoping the three of them to take the stage together on the last day?
Since the odds will always be in my favor, I secured my tickets. Did you?
THE BALKANS WILL ALWAYS ALWAYS ON TREND
We know the circular cycle of food trends on TikTok is neverending, and as one trend dies, another unexpected dish comes up to send us back to the grocery store for exploration. But this one feels less like a trend, but more of a reckoning.
We're talking of course about Balkan breakfasts, the trend started by famous influencer Balkan Dad and sought after by many on my feed.
It requires very little effort to prepare, and the ingenuity actually comes from having a plate of eggs, sausage, and veggies (mostly raw) in front of you, that you can nibble together or separately, building your tasting journey as you go.
On TikTok you can find dietician reactions, users trying to copy it, and even chewing ASMR videos to Balkan breakfast.
I'll skip this one for now (intermittent fasting, you know), but it did make me feel like booking a ticket for a visit soon!
THE PLAYLIST
