It's been a while that I have been using different social media handles, Facebook, twitter and Instagram for social networking, LinkedIn for Career and Business networking, but there's been some changes of late, that have impacted the usage of people like me.
Subject Matters for LinkedIn networking:
There are people who would write to you a simple "Hi". Now just try to understand what the person wants to communicate with you for:
- Mere Chat: not the platform for chatting, my friend. Please use whatsapp, facebook messenger and other messenger services.
- Wants to interact with you but don't know why: Please try to know why you want to send a particular message to someone on LinkedIn. Write a subject, describe your profile and why the interaction would be necessary and useful to at least one of the parties involved.
Basics:
- Full Words: When you're writing a message to someone, please avoid usage of words in "hlo", "wassup" or any other SMS kind of words.
- Job/Career Networking: While writing to check about certain job opportunities with some organization or just to check opportunities with someone working at a particular organization, make sure you write a brief profile of yours as a paragraph and the kind of jobs (domain that relates your experiences) you're looking for, with that organization.
- Business Networking: While writing to know details about where your company can pitch in to assist the company you're writing to, make sure you add your company profile as attachment and a brief company profile in the message text as a paragraph. The message should also have your short profile so the receiver of this message know that you're the person to talk to for that particular project/activities (in your organization). You should be detailed about various aspects involving that project/activities, otherwise you're spoiling the reputation of your company rather than creating it.
LinkedIn is for Career, LinkedIn is for Business. Use it professionally to get better with your profession (Career/Business).
