Subdimension or is it sub dimension?

In a recent Gartner research Digital IQ: Email Benchmarks - the authors used the term “score subdimensions”.

The scope of the study was email marketing benchmarks measure B2B and B2C brands. With the encouragement that digital marketers should,

“?use Gartner’s email benchmarks to keep a pulse on the successful strategies and priorities of leading brands in and out of their industry.”?

While the study is full of merit and worth reading, I got stuck on the term ‘sub dimension’, is this an everyday word? Is this a term digital marketers should be using? Turning to my friend Google, I found varying terms for the word. I found variations of spelling of the word or term. I found various types of music, sunglasses and digital art. I found legal definitions. I found out it is not an acceptable Scrabble word.?

Which leads me to ask, how can a word in the dictionary not be an acceptable Scrabble word??
