By Marsha Lindquist?

Imagine you’ve just won a significant piece of work with a major prime contractor.?They won and so you did too.?The exciting part is that you get to perform the work with a great teaming partner.?The prime contractor is eager for you to start and you are ready to begin tomorrow.?But wait!?Don’t start the work before you read and agree to the terms and conditions that you will live with for a long time.?Often the prime contractor sends you the agreement and assumes you will just sign it and begin work.?Too often, if you are a novice subcontractor, you simply agree to terms and conditions you ought to really think about.?This article outlines just the top five points you need to spend the most time examining.

Subcontracts Management

Ziva's Quick Tip

Sub Targets

A great management decision affecting your price is a big one – targets you set for your subcontractors and suppliers. Negotiate with your vendors.?To do that adequately, you need to develop your targets for the work or product you are asking them to bid on. Then you need to stick to your targets to make sure you get a competitive price from them.?
