When Natalie set her eyes on a beachfront property in Mossel Bay, overlooking the Santos Beach and old harbour, she immediately fell in love.? The property, which dates back to the early 20th century, was overgrown and, in a sense, neglected, but Natalie immediately noticed the old bones, which needed sympathetic but also artistic hands. The house with Edwardian features could easily be transformed into a Mediterranean villa, and an all-white outside and inside was the perfect choice, with only the original stonework on the outside left untouched. The interior walls and beautiful woodwork were all done in white, while the solid floorboards were treated in a whitewash, which all enhanced the Mediterranean beach house style.

In defiance of recommendations to replace the old door handles and ironwork, she was determined to preserve and restore everything to its original state. She was convinced that maintaining the original window handles, door locks, and doorknobs was paramount. This unwavering stance led to an extensive therapeutic process to bring everything back to its original glory. Every possible effort was made to enlist professional assistance for the restoration. Identifying the right builder and locksmith to initiate this formidable task proved a significant challenge. Despite the challenges, the restoration proceeded with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the original features were carefully preserved and revived. Amidst this restoration, exciting and light-hearted touches, such as adding a vibrant blue front door, infused the house with an air of excitement and joy. Each step was taken carefully to honour the property's historical significance. Furthermore, she meticulously ensured that all the electrical appliances were of the highest quality, aiming to create a comfortable and inviting environment for all who would visit the impeccably restored home. Her unwavering commitment to preserving and restoring the original features, attention to detail, and the inclusion of modern comforts have transformed the house into a truly remarkable and inviting space.
