Stuff the Truck - Part Two!
Friends:
As most of you are aware, my wife Kim and I have three great kids – two of whom have chronic illnesses. Alex was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 18 mos. Emily was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 9. Each has treated at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) in Hartford since their diagnoses. Emily most recently had surgery there in April of 2015, and she now wears an ostomy bag.
To say that we have a connection to CCMC is an understatement – they have literally been life savers to our kids, and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude.
With that in mind, and it being the season of spirituality and giving, I am conducting Part Two of Stuff the Truck – my second-annual effort to solicit toys for the CCMC Toy Donation program – Emergency Department visitors get a toy, as do longer term care patients.
My goal, on behalf of BB&E, is to Stuff the Truck with toys (or contributions, but toys have a tremendous emotional impact) by December 22nd. I have attached a “Wish List” from CCMC, to be used as a guide if you can participate. Last year, in just a little over a week, we raised $2500, and, to my best guess, more than 1000 items valued over $5000! Toys, books, clothes, art supplies, movies, gift cards…it was amazing!
I’m lucky, I get to see many of you on our various jobsites – if you can help and would like to participate, just let me know and I will stop in to your site to pick up your gift(s). If not, or you’re here in the office, simply leave your donation in my office (Stuff My Office comes first, I guess!). If you're out of state, or across the world...please consider sending a check!
Once again, toys from the list are preferred, gift cards are welcome, and checks are accepted as well. Simply make checks out to CCMC Foundation, and I will see that whatever is given is dropped off to CCMC on the 22nd. If you prefer to mail a check, please send to my attention at the address listed below.
I’ve already set this up with CCMC, but for more information, you can visit the CCMC websites at:

https://connecticutchildrensfoundation.org/toys
Feel free to pass along, like, share, etc – I’ll work out the details of any other pickups I have to make!
The "pile" as of 12/16/16...keep 'em coming!
Thank you!
