A Pancake Moment

?My ten-year-old granddaughter Anna loves to bake.?We spent time together during Spring Break and Anna was the connoisseur of morning pancakes.?I must say she is rather talented considering her age and quite adept at managing multiple customized orders.?Snowmen, golf balls, and Disney characters were a few of the favorite creations.

?On Wednesday morning she burned a pancake and lamented to me; “Papa, I don’t know what happened.”

?“Anna,” I said, “sometimes no matter how hard we try, unexpected things happen.?It’s okay, we have more pancake mix.”?

?“What will you do different next time?”

?“I’ll watch it bake more closely,” Anna simply replied.

?This is a wonderful “Stupid Mistake, Let’s Have Lunch!” moment.

?What was your latest mistake, failure??How did you adjust your next attempt? What did you learn from the experience? What will you never do again?
