Stuff I learned, part 9

Stuff I learned, part 9

  1. Not everyone at work acts for the good of the company.
  2. Busy doesn't always mean productive.
  3. A leadership title doesn't necessarily make you a leader.
  4. If you don't remove bad people from your organization, you'll lose the good ones.
  5. The most vocal people at work are always certain but seldom right.
  6. The person sniping at and criticizing you is often covering for their own deficiencies.
  7. Exposing fraud, deception or ethical issues is never easy but you'll regret not doing it.
  8. You can't just trust in what someone says; watch their actions when they finish speaking.
  9. A true leader guides, empowers, trusts their team to own their work without micro-management.
  10. You're the one who controls your mind and actions, not someone else.

"A leadership title doesn't necessarily make you a leader." Definitely agree with this one. It's a skill that should be learned. It doesn't just come with a title.

Ron Wagner Good list Ron but not sure I agree with: "The most vocal people at work are always certain but seldom right." I think most people are too afraid to speak up at work so someone who is willing just might be certain and right!!
