Study the Word
Today's devotional is from Your Life Matters: Daily Reflections from the Psalms
"Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds" - Psalm 119:27.
The Bible and especially the psalms have great Spirit-led prayers you can use today in your walk with the Lord. Today's verse is one of those prayers. The psalmist asked God for help to understand His ways and commands. God must be the One to open your mind to comprehend His word and to gain insight into His person. The good news is the Spirit is in your life to do so, but you must be the one to spend the time and make the effort to learn and grow in the knowledge of His word.
Are you praying for that to happen? Are you working toward that end? If you are, then are you spending time not just reading His word, but also studying it? The Jews in Berea modeled this practice when Luke reported: "Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true" (Acts 17:11).
Don't just have good intentions to study the Word and know Him better. Get some help developing a plan to do so and then follow it.

3 年John Stanko There are 168 hours in a week. We give 56 hours for sleep. We give 40 hours for work. We give a 10-20 hours to transportation, another half-dozen to cooking, cleaning, hygiene, television, athletics, etc. And one hour to God. The miracle is here: Even with a 167-to-1 ratio, He wins.
