1. TOEFL scores are now valid for all Australian visa purposes

The Educational Testing Service (ETS) declared on May 6, 2024, that results from the English language exam TOEFL will now be accepted for all Australian visa purposes. The important test is administered by ETS, a Princeton, New Jersey-based organization, and its results for exams taken on or after May 5, 2024, will be accepted for this purpose.

2. Canada sets weekly work limit for Indian students at 24 hours

Indian nationals studying abroad will now be subject to a new regulation in Canada that limits their off-campus work hours to 24 hours per week beginning in September. Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, in a press release shared, "The temporary policy allowing students to work more than 20 hours per week off campus will come to an end on April 30, 2024, and it will not be extended. This fall, we intend to change the number of hours students may work off campus per week to 24 hours."

3. Indian students are the largest international community on German campuses

With 42,578 students as of 2023, Indian students make up the largest international community on German campuses. With over 42,000 students overall—a 25 percent increase in just one year—India has the largest student population in Germany, according to German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann last year. Additionally, India has seen a 30% increase in tourism to Germany.?
