Student Spotlight: Miller Solis
Breathe BioMedical Inc.
Developing an accurate breath test to detect early-stage breast cancer in women.
At Breathe BioMedical, we value the opportunity to learn from our student interns while also providing them with an exciting environment in which to learn and grow. Student interns make a significant contribution to the work we do at Breathe BioMedical. The knowledge and experience that student interns bring to the workplace is priceless.
Miller Solis recently graduated from Simon Fraser University where he completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering along with obtaining his Computing Studies certificate. He joined Breathe BioMedical in May as a Firmware Engineering Intern.
Outside of work, Miller can be found playing soccer with his friends, watching classic movies and reading. He also enjoys working on personal projects involving hardware, where he is able to complement his extensive knowledge in embedded software with hands-on experience in assembling and optimizing complex hardware designs.
Miller recalls how Breathe BioMedical caught his eye when he was looking for summer internships, “The company sounded very innovative, and it was something I had never heard of before which was very intriguing. After the interview I realized how much BBM had to offer in terms of high impact work, and I knew it was the right fit for me as the work I would be doing would be essential in the long run.”

During his time here, Miller has been focusing on developing Version 2 of our Breath Sampler, which he has been working on since the early stages of development. “I am really proud of the work I am doing because I have never worked on a product from its initial phase, so to do that and see it slowly come to life is very exciting”, Miller states.
When talking about how meaningful Breathe BioMedical has been to him and his future career, Miller reflects, “This has been the most impactful experience I’ve ever had, this company has provided me with so many opportunities to grow these past months and I know as I transition to full-time this coming Fall, the opportunities will only grow.”
Miller joined Breathe BioMedical full-time in September as an Electrical Engineer, and we could not be more excited. Thank you for all your hard work, Miller, and welcome to the team!
