Student Meets Teacher: A Special Reunion at the Inaugural International TVET Conference

At the International Conference for TVETs, held from 25-27 September 2024 at Stellenbosch, I had a truly memorable reunion with Mr. Magagula, my very first Master's student at UJ ??. Guiding him through his research journey was a highlight of my career, and seeing him present at such a prestigious platform was a full-circle moment for both of us.

Mr. Magagula’s presentation focused on his Master’s research around the impact of 4IR on TVET institutions, a critical topic for the future of education ??. I, on the other hand, presented a paper on Digitalising TVET colleges in South Africa to enhance their accessibility and effectiveness in the digital age ??.

The opportunity to share our insights on such an important stage, alongside national and international stakeholders, was an incredible honor ??. This reunion reminded me of the lasting impact educators have, and it’s moments like these that I’ll always treasure. A perfect reflection to celebrate on this Teachers' Day ?.
