The overall net promoter score for this round of surveys was 95.7%, which is a great indicator of our overall current performance and student satisfaction.

Student feedback is so critically important to support our focus on continuous improvement. These anonymous surveys are a key piece of the efforts towards student engagement, and I love to read every comment made by the students. We also reach out in many other ways to keep open lines of communication. I try to do my part as well. Every student gets my personal cell number and email address. Plus, I often go in to the classrooms of our new students and spend up to an hour doing some ice-breaking activities.

These classroom sessions are fun! I usually start out with a discussion on quantum physics and how little we really know about the nature of reality. To me, that demonstrates the need for humility and curiosity about the world, ourselves, and each other. Then the discussion can veer off into any number of topics, whether school related or not. Finally, I finish with a challenge to do a set of 50 "push-ups". Any student that can match or beat my set of 50 push-ups gets a little gift card. I like to encourage our students to understand that physical fitness is an important element of success in life.

One thing I'm very proud of is the trend towards seeing student comments recognizing the welcoming, respectful and genuineness of our campus culture. We are trying to help our students develop a set of career and life skills that will extend beyond their time here at Rosedale Tech. Creating a low stress, friendly and fun environment is a big reason for the success of our school and our students.
