STUDENT ENERGY CAREER TRAINING (prompt 3)

STUDENT ENERGY CAREER TRAINING (prompt 3)

Hello!

How are you doing?

It has been almost two weeks since I last wrote to you.

If you have followed this newsletter closely, you would have observed that in my recent newsletters, I wrote about the global opportunity I got (Student Energy Career Training) to reinforce my stand in the energy space.

Yes! We are not done yet.

First, I want to believe that your mind and eyes are open to global opportunities. This is a highly recommended strategy for credibility, growth, and development in your field.

YOU DO NOT WANT TO KEEP BEING A LOCAL CHAMPION...

In case you have not been following, please check my last three newsletters to have a better understanding of the remaining part of this letter.

Before I proceed, I would love to share a brief overview of the programme

The Student Energy Career Training programme aims to equip young people with the required knowledge and skills to kickstart a career in the energy sector.

The curriculum was planned such that participants are exposed to energy-based training, real-time projects, career development programs, and mentorship.

The application has three short essay prompts, and I have been explaining how I answered each of them.

In my previous letter to you, I provided tips on answering the first and second prompts of the SECT application.

Today, we'll consider the next and last prompt:

"What skill or topic are you most excited to learn about through this program and why?"

Here, you should go back to the application document/website to study and digest the skills and experiences that the programme offers. Then, strategically craft what you will personally gain from the program.

..........

Having highlighted the key skills that would be gained, I talked about how I have read stories of past trainees and the experience they had while carrying out their projects with partner organizations.

Part of my answer read, "I would have been equipped with the fundamentals of energy systems, model thinking, project management before going ahead with the project. This means I will put into practice what I have learned as guided by energy experts. In addition to this, I am also eager to engage with the Energy Career Path module, which I am confident will provide a clear understanding of the career paths in the energy sector guiding my decision in selecting a career path in the sector."

Also, you should touch on the aspect of the program that interests you the most. Mine was Project Management.

About PM, I answered, "I look forward to the project management module, which will sharpen my project management skills. The knowledge and skills gained from this module will equip me to face complex energy problems and provide systematic ways to solve them."

I hope this was helpful and I look forward to reading from you in the comment section.

Till I write to you again

Yours in the Energy World
