Student Debt Issue

The schools are not doing right by their students regarding student loans.
They should be counseling students prior to taking on so much debt advising them how long it will take to pay off these loans and whether it makes sense given the major and the amount of debt incurred. I recall reading an article about a student who got a degree in social work at the cost of close to 100K in debt.
There was no way the student will be able to pay off that loan until they are old and grey if at all. At least if doctors, lawyers, IT specialists, and engineers incur that amount of debt they have a fighting chance of paying it off in a reasonable amount of time based on their projected income.
Schools should also be offering more jobs on campus to offset tuition.
