Stuck in the "But How?" Loop? 3 Mindset Shifts to Propel You Forward

Stuck in the "But How?" Loop? 3 Mindset Shifts to Propel You Forward

Have you ever found yourself staring at a big, audacious goal, feeling both excited and paralyzed? You can see it so clearly in your mind, but the path to get there seems shrouded in fog. I get it. In fact, this is the number one challenge I see entrepreneurs face.

Here's the truth: You don't need to see the entire path to take the first step.

Think about hiking a new trail. When you're standing in the parking lot, all you can see is the trailhead. You can't possibly know what mile one, two, or three will look like. But does that stop you from starting? Of course not!

Your entrepreneurial journey is no different. You're standing in that metaphorical parking lot right now, and it's time to start walking.

Why Your Brain Says "But How?"

As a trained hypnotherapist, I've studied how our brains work. When we ask our brain a question it doesn't have an answer to, it often responds with "impossible." It's not trying to sabotage you; it simply doesn't have the data to give you an effective answer.

Your brain is like a computer - it can't outperform its programming. And right now, it's likely programmed with outdated information from your past. The good news? You can update that programming.

Reframing the "But How?" Question

Instead of getting stuck on "But how do I get there?", try these reframes:

  • "I don't need to know how. I trust that I have what it takes to bring this to life."
  • "All I need to know right now is my next step."
  • "I'm resourceful and resilient. I'll figure it out as I go."

Remember, you can't anticipate what mile one will look like from the parking lot. You just need to start walking.

The Power of Trust in Your Journey

Bringing big goals to life requires an enormous amount of trust. Trust in yourself, in the universe, and in the process. Here's what you need to embrace:

  1. Trust in yourself: Believe that you have the ability to be resourceful and find what you need.
  2. Trust in the universe: Have faith that invisible strings are being pulled to help your path unfold.
  3. Trust in the process: Understand that setbacks and "no's" are happening for you, not to you.

Taking Action: Your Next Step

It's time to move beyond contemplation and into action. Here's your challenge:

1. Identify your very next step. It doesn't need to be perfect, just progress.

2. Commit to a date to take that step.

3. Email me at [email protected] with your commitment. (Yes, I'm serious!)

Remember, you don't need to see the whole staircase to take the first step. You just need to trust yourself enough to begin.
