I've seen this tendency a lot. AI gets stuck in a rut and won't reconsider its response. Clearing the chat history & rephrasing the question, being more specific helps. You would never rely on predictive text to inform you, so neither should you rely on generative AI. It's a tool, like a super quick office junior. It helps your productivity but make sure you check its work!

It is worth remembering, that people can say things confidently but be factually wrong. AI is a Marketing term for Statistics and Probability, that in some instances has been implemented really well but it is just data and maths.
