How Battery Energy Storage System Testing Is Making the Grid More Sustainable
BESS manufacturers are deep into testing the technology across advanced lead, lithium and vanadium, putting each through real-world paces to demonstrate viability. BESS technology is needed to ensure the grid can accommodate renewables and maintain a balanced power supply and demand.
This article with POWER magazine features Stryten Energy’s vanadium BESS test site at Snapping Shoals Electric Membership Corporation and our lead BESS at VICARS Community Center. Tests such as these will be strong proof-of-concepts that the marketplace needs to begin adopting the technology.

Columbus Employees Complete Second Adopt-a-Road Cleanup
A team of nine employees from our Columbus, IN, plant recently participated in their second Adopt-A-Road cleanup along County Road 450S. The employees collected 15 bags of trash weighing 80 pounds in just 2.5 hours. Items included car parts, beverage containers, roofing debris and more. Because the amount of trash was down from the first cleanup in June, it’s clear their efforts are making an impact. A huge thanks to everyone at the Columbus plant who contributed!
