Welcome to the 7th edition of my Newsletter.
Are you someone who wants to improve your English language skills but never takes the first step?
Many people desire to be proficient in English but often fail to make a genuine effort despite their yearning. This newsletter is aimed at those individuals.
Numerous reasons and excuses exist for not putting in a genuine effort. However, the fundamental reason might be that you have not yet faced a dire situation: a situation where your lack of expertise in the language truly matters, where you might face humiliation in front of others due to your inefficiency, where your professional growth is halted, or where your family's reputation suffers due to your lack of proficiency.
These are just a few scenarios. The point is that it often takes a true need, arising from challenging circumstances, to motivate people to improve their language skills. So, what can be done to inspire and motivate yourself to take up the task of enhancing your language skills?
Here are three ways to do it:
1. Commit to Something that Requires English Language Skills:
Engage in activities that require good English skills. This can include tasks like giving a presentation, joining a discussion, or taking a job that demands strong communication skills. It's important to choose something you can't easily back out of. When you're in a situation where quitting would hurt your reputation, it pushes you to try harder and improve.

2. Announce Your Commitment to the World:
Share your goals publicly to create a sense of accountability. If you keep your plans secret, people may misunderstand you or get offended seeing the sudden change in you.
By telling your friends, family, or coworkers about your goals, you create a pressure on yourself to follow through. This public declaration helps keep you on track because others will be aware of your commitments.
3. Regularly Update the World About Your Progress:
If you're active on social media, regularly post about your small successes. If you don't use social media, discuss your progress with a close friend or family.
This regular sharing helps you realise the tangible results of your efforts. Recognizing and celebrating your progress is crucial for staying motivated and continuing to work hard towards your goals.
The journey to mastering English, or any language, requires genuine effort and determination. By setting clear goals, holding yourself accountable, and celebrating your progress, you can overcome the obstacles and achieve proficiency.
Remember, small steps and consistent efforts lead to significant improvements over time. Start today, and you'll be amazed at how far you can go.
Have a great Sunday…See you in August!
