Struggling with reaching your health + fitness goals?

Struggling with reaching your health + fitness goals?

Hey lovelies :)

Are you a busy mom, that’s struggling with reaching your health + fitness goals?

Does this sound familiar?

You decide it’s time to tighten up your habits + create healthier routines so you can eat healthier, workout regularly, + lose some weight [+ keep it off!]

So, you come up with a plan.

This plan includes a specific way you’re going to eat + a fitness program you’re going to religiously stick to. You decide that this Monday is going to be the day to start. That’s today!!!

You begin. You kick a** all week long!

The weekend rolls around. You totally indulge + get off-track. But, it’s ok. You’re going to begin again Monday. Here we go again….

So, you do. You have a pretty good week.

But, you’re so low on energy + are hungry ALL. THE. TIME.

Also, you’re cranky every day.

You’re tired of dieting + really dread the workouts you’re supposed to be doing.

By week 3 you’re kind of showing up.

Week 4? Eh… you’re over it. Maybe it’s not the right time to get into shape?

I feel you… I have TOTALLY BEEN THERE. The roller coaster of trying to lose weight + get a healthy routine in place you can actually stick to it.

What gives? How do you finally get off this roller coaster + reach your health + fitness goals?

In this email, I am sharing 3 of the most popular reasons you might not be reaching your health + fitness goals.

1 | YOU’RE NOT GRADUALLY BUILDING HABITS OVER TIME

This is one of the BIGGEST mistakes anyone can make when trying to reach their health + fitness goals. It’s the “all or nothing” mindset that’s to blame for being this way. This is such a popular mindset with most of my clients.

For example… If you have goals for working out 5 days a week consistently, you should NOT start with working out 5 days a week!

Instead, you should aim to work out 1-2 days a week for a few weeks. Once that becomes easy + feels like a habit, you add another day. After working out 2-3 days a week seems like part of your lifestyle, then you add in working out 3-4 days… then 4-5 days.

YES — this might take 2-3 months to build up to your goal habit of 5 days. But, that’s how the behavior actually sticks. That’s when you stop dreading working out + completely self-sabotaging your results — causing you to not want to work out at all.

2 | YOUR MAIN FOCUS IS YOUR WEIGHT

The second reason you’re probably not reaching your health + fitness goals is that you’re focusing on dropping weight. Usually, doing it as fast as possible. Well, let me tell you…. how much you weigh not everything when it comes to results!

Really, your weight is just a piece of data. Yes, it’s important. But, there are other ways to measure your physical progress that isn’t scale related. You should consider adding these to your toolbelt:

· Take body measurements: You know those flexible tape measures that are used with sewing? Get yourself one of those + actually measure your arms, chest, midsection, thighs, calves, etc. They’re the MOST accurate way to measure progress. You can lose inches + maintain/gain weight due to muscle gain + fat loss.

· Take progress photos: Use the same clothes each time — should be something like a two-piece bathing suit or shorts + a sports bra so you can actually see changes when you look at different dates.

· Use clothes to measure: Choose a snug pair of jeans or shorts + put them on every week or two to see if they’re fitting any differently.

Besides measuring physical results, another very important aspect of health + fitness goals is your mindset. So, as you’re on your journey be sure that you’re building habits around your emotional + mental progress. If not, none of the physical results will stand a chance of being permanent.

3 | YOU THINK YOU CAN DO IT ALONE

The third reason you might not be reaching your health + fitness goals is that you think you can create these habits completely on your own. The percentage of people that can do this is very very small — I know I am NOT one of those people! You need to create a system of accountability + support so you can stay motivated.

It takes a ton of willpower to be able to change habits that you have probably had most of your life. You NEED people to help you through the process of undoing ways of thinking + physical behaviors that are part of who you are. You can’t do it alone.

Whether you hire a coach like me [click HERE to learn more about my 1:1 program], have a supportive spouse or friend that wants to change habits with you, or you join an online challenge or support group — you need to find your people that are going to help you reach your health + fitness goals.
