Struggling to generate new business leads?
The pandemic that we are all in has created an unprecedented situation for everyone but notably anyone in Sales or business development will be really struggling this year.
From experience we have found that normally, during the Christmas period many people take stock of their sales funnel and review how they are going to kick start the New Year.
I for one usually find lots of new enquiries for help with generating new business in January. It has not happened as I would have normally expected, so we in turn have had to reach out to prospects and generate new interest instead of sitting back and waiting for the enquiries to flood in.
If you are in Sales or Business development you will probably be feeling the pinch. What are you doing to address this shortfall? How are you going to overcome the lack of new business leads and enquiries?
I for one have had to make significant additional telephone calls to prospect for leads for my existing customer base, sometimes in excess of 150 calls per day. It's a number game unfortunately and the law of average suggests that the more touch points that you have, the greater the chance of finding a lead. That said, many individuals some still to post lots of content on social media in the vain hope that it will come good. It isn't gonna happen, if the mountain does not come to Mohammed, then he will have to get of his backside and go to the mountain by foot or other means.
I have personally been in Sales and Business development for over two decades now and have seen it all, but once thing that I can say with certainty is if you are struggling to get new leads, change the way that you do things...whether that be get new data, phrase the way that you speak with prospects, target customers from another perspective, anything but just change your strategy.
