One of the toughest questions I have ever had to grapple with in the last 22 years of my adulthood experiences is “What makes me Unique”? How am I different from the other 7–8 billion souls on planet Earth? What does it mean to be my self-actualized self and why is it taking extremely long to discover that aspect of my personhood?
Like many of you, the path and process toward equilibrium has taken you around the Sun and back. Just look back on the last 10 years of your life. What has taken place in your experiences that made you say, “What in the world was that”?
Personally, this pandemic, relationship woes, working a job that I hate, sick relatives, unbalanced emotional state, bad habits, and impatience can have serious ramifications on the mental health of an individual, for those who can afford a $100 therapy session take the plunge. At this stage in the game of global politics, we must throw caution to the wind and truly discover what makes us unique and valuable to the world.
I, too, have had my share of watershed moments that rocked my world, and yet I focused my mental train of thought on just “keeping " it Simple. If you have too many things going on in your world and in your head, you must pause, reset, take a step back, and find the courage to balance all systems into a workable solution. I am sure this isn’t as easy as it sounds, but nothing is when it involves changing your life for the better.
So, what can you do to start the process of discovering your Unique Gifts & abilities?
Keep Expanding: Always be in a state of expansion. At times our planetary energies give the human soul time to pause and reflect. It’s super necessary for you to use that time to plan out your next phase of development. Do you need to take some new courses? Do you hate your current job? What can you do today with what you have to serve others in some capacity? Never stop growing. Listen to a podcast that you have never listened to before. Watch a documentary on Mars. The little you do in time will add up in a big way.
Keep Listening to Motivational Content: Never stop replaying podcasts, YouTube videos, or any meditation music that helps to grant you needed ideas about your life. I will say that it’s important to watch what goes into your ear gate, but for the most part, trust yourself. The uniqueness that you seek is already in you seeking expression. Remember, once completed, the entire puzzle will have people hunting you down for your unique giftings and talent.
Keep Exercising: One of the things I use for inspiration and finding that uniqueness is walking. I do jog when inspiration hits me but for the most part; I keep my body in motion. If you struggle in this area start small. A little here and there goes a long way.

Keep Giving Thanks: If you are reading this, then you have something to be thankful for. Why? Because you were one of the fortunate ones to survive COVID-19 & this herd immunity. I know you are super thankful for your life. A friendly reminder helps to keep things in perspective.
Keep Writing: Whether you are a big fan of journaling or not, take some time to write anything. Writing for me over the years has become my lifeline. I write when I am happy, sad, bored, scared, and angry. Just a few words sometimes. I might take out a sheet of paper and write “I am money” 10 times and that’s it. There is something therapeutic about writing that needs further exploration.
Keep Breathing: The gift of breath is one of the most overlooked blessings the world has ever known. What happens when we stop breathing? You guessed it we die. Cherish your breath. Keep breathing. It’s not until your breath is compromised that the importance of it comes into play. Covid has single-handedly redefined the importance of breath. Walk in the park and just breathe. Thank me later.
Keep Trusting the Process: Each experience we go through in this life teaches us a little more about ourselves and the things we were born to do. It may not make sense at the moment concerning the things you struggle with (i.e., bad habits, relationship breakdowns, financial woes, etc.). It will all make sense soon enough.
In the end, Life becomes a beautifully prescribed set of experiences that we need in order to build up our spiritual reserves. It feels good going through my hellish experiences in order to help someone better their situation. That’s been my mantra when it comes to navigating these deep-seated emotional stains of my experiences on planet earth.
It’s only after the storm subsides that clarity begins to come and open up our minds towards the beauty of our creative gifts. Hurricane Ian in Florida seemed super tragic and uneventful and yet at the same time life will spring from that calamity.
Someone’s uniqueness will be discovered and unlocked due to that unforeseen nature of change. Prayers to all the families that have lost loved ones in those storms. Because we all must find out what we are made of at some point in this universal experience.
Remember, discovering your uniqueness will take time. We are all born with that uniqueness trapped in us. It’s about tapping into those gifts within and refining them for the benefit of humanity. You are valuable and your gifts will make a lasting impact on planet Earth only if you “KEEP” progressing in a forward manner.
