Struggling to catch your specific audience's attention?

Struggling to catch your specific audience's attention? Maybe its because your

hook isn't "sharp" enough?

You can "sharpen" your hook by making sure each post is specifically focused on a specific combination of:

  1. The Audience
  2. Their Challenge
  3. Your Solution

1) What are the Your Audience's Silent Questions

These are Your Audience's Silent Questions that your audience are grappling with (ie "Why should I pay this content any attention?") as they contemplate your content:

If you dont answer these questions successfully then you stand a good chance of loosing your audiences attention:

These questions apply regardless of whether your content is written or spoken:

1) The Audience - Are you actually talking to "me" ?

  • Do you understand your audience?
  • Are you talking to me and not just anyone or everyone?

2) Their Challenge - What specific challenge of mine are you addressing?

  • is it a challenge that I have?
  • Do you understand how that challenge relates specifically to me?

3) Your Solution - What is the solution you are offering / promising?

  • I want at least a hint of the solution before I read further (pay any more attention)
  • I want to get a feel for the potential benefit I will enjoy from reading / listening further

2) How do you use this to connect with Your Audience more effectively

Your answers to these questions should be reflected in:

  1. Your pitch
  2. Your LinkedIn headline
  3. The headline of any article
  4. The first line or two of any post or presentation

"Most strangers are not interested in you, your role or your organisation as they are absorbed by their own challenges, however if you can express their challenges in words they recognise then they may pay some attention to your solution" LinkedIn Maxim No. 63
