Structure Equals Freedom

Structure Equals Freedom

Remember the Paradox of Structure:

“The more structure in your life, the more true freedom you will have.”

Structure includes boundaries for social media, email, and your phone.

For example, you should not go on your phone until after you have been awake for an hour or two. That way you can get something productive done each morning, like writing, BIG thinking, practicing a sales script, exercise, or meditation.

Likewise, you MUST have a boundary for when you shut your phone off each night. It should be at least an hour before bedtime, preferably two hours. This will help you wind down and fall asleep faster, and sleep deeper.

I even recommend “Device Free Days” or Digital Detox blocks on the weekend when you shut off all electronics. Discover how to do this on my Digital Detox podcast here

BONUS => Make Time for Your Partner ... or Yourself

Listen, all this controlling of the day, blocking time, staying focused... we’re doing this deep work in order to live the good life. Don’t forget to concentrate on what counts!

That means Making Time for what really matters, your partner, your children, your health, your hobbies, and your self-care. And remember, it’s often the little things that matter most.

Showing love costs little, so make sure your family knows how much you care. Make that Facetime or phone call – within your phone time boundaries of course! :)

Even if you’re stressed out because you have a houseful of kids, be grateful. You are surrounded by a child's wonder and energy and love everyday. Don’t take this for granted.

All that really matters in life are the people we loved and the experiences we had. Life is not about money or stuff.

With this Attitude of Gratitude, you're going to rock the rest of 2017, and totally dominate 2018 and beyond.

Let's finish with a challenge for you ... to take an extra weekday off this month!

Here's how...

1) Choose a Thursday or Friday off in August. (Consult with your partner if necessary.)

2) Properly communicate this plan to your team and clients... Your clients, if you have them, will love knowing that you live and lead by example and walk the walk about living a Perfect Life.

3) Plan and prepare everything... from what you'll do on that day to what you'll do on the days before that day to minimize email build-up, team member anxiety, etc.

Looking forward to your day-off success stories.

Have a Perfect next week,

Craig
