Structural Documents: Business and Feasibility Study
Last week we launched our new three-part series on Structural documents.
The Business Plan and Feasibility Study are arguably the two most important documents involved in a captive insurance investment.
The Business Plan sets the structure and foundation of the captive insurance company, expresses how the captive will grow within the target market, and designates service providers who will manage the operations of the company.
The Feasibility Study is the future prediction of the financial success of the captive, which needs to be prepared by an actuary who is approved by the captive domicile. Much like the Business Plan, the users are mainly the captive owner and possibly the fronting carrier if the captive is a reinsurer.
