Stronger together: Fostering team playing
One of the biggest challenges I had to face in my career in the translation and localization industry was taking my new role as Operations coordinator at TiMe Translations & Training.
Having worked as a PM for many years was definitely an advantage since I could rapidly identify the PMs needs and I had worked alongside them for many years. The challenge was offering them valuable tools and support from my new role.
My first goal was building a strong team culture, which is essential for any organization to thrive. It requires commitment from all team members to collaborate and communicate in order to work together and reach for success.
I based my work on some key elements that were already present in the company's culture to make them our flagship and boost motivation:
Communication. Effective communication is key to ensuring that all teammates are on the same page regarding company goals, objectives and challenges. Open communication encourages all team players to share ideas and feedback. We think that regular meetings with clear agendas and informative emails contribute to avoid misunderstandings and ensure everyone is on the loop.
Organization. Creating and sharing monthly agendas, clear guidelines, calendars, and best practices reminders are some of the key activities and materials I implemented to achieve better organization and it has proven to be very productive in our case. It is important that all employees have full access to the information and to avoid silos.

Brainstorming. We think this is an essential component of any prosperous company. It allows the team to share thoughts and feedback in an open and collaborative way. New solutions often arise from experience in a particular project and this can prove very useful. Also, whenever we have a challenge, the whole team is ready to harness their diverse skills and face it.
Continuing Education: Honing the team’s abilities is another crucial aspect of our business. We strive to provide our team with the best learning tools and content to keep up with the industry’s evolution.
Overall, I think that a successful team work requires a combination of clear communication, regular organizational activities and motivation. By prioritizing these elements, we can ensure that everyone is working towards common goals and that the company is able to adapt and thrive in this ever-changing landscape.
