Stronger Together
The walls are closing in!! Or, at least, that’s what it feels like after being inside for 6 months. And with no end in sight, we’re all in for what looks to be a long, cold winter!! Beside the love of my family – and the seemingly endless housework! – the thing that really keeps me going through this difficult time is the help and support of my Infosys team.
At the start of the lock-down, I thought the conference calls were endless and took up most of my workday. I was aggravated as I thought ‘How can I get any work done when I have all these calls?’ It took me a little while to realize the truth; it’s the calls, the connection with a team of professionals that keep me sane. People who are all going through the same thing I am, who have all the same pressures and deadlines, who are there to support me when I need it, as I am for them when they need my support. It’s my friends and colleagues at Infosys who keep me from going crazy during a crazy time in our lives. We all need the support of friends and colleagues to make our work and our lives a little easier.
It’s true. We are all in this together. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, what language you speak or whether or not your kids are constantly under foot. If you eat samosas, wontons, varenyky, ravioli, empanadas, banku, pot stickers, pierogis or kreplach, or any dumpling from around the world, we are all much more alike than we are different. Everyone, everywhere, are suffering through the worst global pandemic in century. But these same devastating times also remind me, every day, that I work for a company that puts its employee’s well-being first.
The real strength of Infosys is its employees working as a team. Squabbles and disputes will pop up from time to time, as in any business (or family). It’s not the arguments that are important; it’s how we as team members deal with these problems together, as one team, as one family, that make Infosys stronger and more profitable.
Now Infosys has held its first two-day Virtual Talent Acquisition meet up. The spirit and energy from the team was infectious (no pandemic pun intended!) and the whole team left the meeting re-energized and ready to tackle whatever challenges lay ahead. Through our outstanding leaders and everyone who participated, the meet up was a highlight of my years with Infosys and I sincerely hope I get to participate in another soon. It really was inspiring to know that there are so many of us who work hard to bring the best talent to Infosys and our clients and through our work, we do our part to keep Infosys successful now and for many years to come. We are all in this together!!

4 年I sooo agree with what you wrote, Alina. In EMEA the calls seemed to be endless too so we cancelled some of them but I keep very fond memory of them. It’s true. "We are all in this together." And the virtual Offsite was so much fun that I think now - we are all in this together for bad and FOR GOOD! ;-)
