If you want to make your job search go faster, one thing to consider is your personal brand.
While every resume has a personal brand (the first impression it makes), a strong personal brand grabs employers by the collar, and demands their attention. Your personal brand extends into your interview, often set by how your answer an interviewer's first question (ex: "So tell me about yourself").
Unfortunately, your resume and interviews probably aren't making this type of impression on employers.
As a top national recruiter, I read hundreds of resumes per day. Almost all of them present an average personal brand (at best), because they are confusing to the reader, do a poor job of capturing reader attention, or a poor job of differentiating the job seeker. They pretty much look similar - qualified and/or confusing (when employers see many qualified candidates, being qualified isn't enough). While the candidate tried to differentiate themselves, their effort failed.
And if nearly all of them fail to differentiate, yours probably falls short as well, causing you to lose opportunities when you're qualified.
But every once in a while, I see a resume that makes me excited as a recruiter, because I can see the job seeker differentiated themselves successfully, their first impression stands out, and the employer will see this also. These are the candidates I recommend to my clients.
