The strong demand for Sydney property continues

The Stone selling team conducted five online auctions on Sunday past and the statistics were very telling.

Each of the properties were sold with one sold prior to auction day. That in itself is not ground breaking news - we are becoming used to such results, but compared to Lockdown Version 2020 it was a completely different story. It was the sheer number of registered bidders for each auction that was extraordinary. We had 36 registered bidders for a home in Castle Hill, 26 for a home in Carlingford, 15 for a block of land, 12 for a Beecroft home and another 28 for a Glenhaven property.

In my seventeen years selling residential real estate, I have seen bullish markets before - 2007/08, 2012, 2015-2017 but nothing quite like this boom. The speed and ferocity of demand has been striking. To use a rugby analogy, this market reminds of the All Blacks… yes they win the vast majority of the time, but it is often the manner in which they win that is distinctive and memorable. This is the 2021 market, yes it is bullish… but it is the power of this bull that continues to surprise.
