Let's take a look at the behind the scenes of the creation of Napranum's Whole of Community Change plan, co-created with Dynamic Exchange. How Napranum empowered their community members, strengthened relationships and built tangible positive change from the inside out. The notion of ‘leading self’ starts with the question of ‘who am l’, 'what’s my purpose' and 'what am l here to create'. . In asking those questions across an entire community, people were coming forward. with their own personal values representing the people of Napranum....   says Annalise Jennings Director Dynamic Exchange

As a community, they answered these questions and found the spirit and drive of the whole. The passions and common goals they all possessed, at once uniting the community and providing a clear direction to go in. These were love, generosity, family, respect, social justice and future generations.

From that moment, the focus wasn’t on addressing issues or problems, it was about working toward achieving the things that drive them as a whole. About seeing the spirit of their community brought to life, and supporting each other to do so. Each and every person became a part of the plan, because their values were represented too.

Blame fell away, as each person is a valuable resource and is striving for the same goal, and when the goal is a healthy and thriving community, everyone is swept up in that momentum.

WIth the knowledge of the answers to these fundamental questions, you can ensure each action you take reflects your truth, and keeps you moving in the direction of your purpose.

That is how they did it. This is what continues to drive the community forward.

In September, elder Maryann Coconut and Annalise Jennings travel to Toronto together to share the stage at the CTT International Conference, as they deliver their message of hope, infinite possibilities and the formula for community ownership and self determination to world leaders and change agents.
