Metamask crypto wallet announces UPI integration with Onramp.money in India.

The Web 3.0 wallet provider MetaMask has recently announced that it will accept bank transfers for Indian users. The company has planned to integrate the nation's flagship payments technology, Unified Payments Interface(UPI) to provide users with immediate access to trade cryptocurrencies.?

To facilitate this development, MetaMask joined hands with Onramp.money, a platform that enables instant transactions for crypto users in India.

After this move, users of MetaMask will be able to purchase cryptocurrencies using local payment systems like UPI and IMPS (Immediate Payment Service), as compared to the old trading methods. According to the sources familiar with the matter, they speculate this announcement will have a significant impact on crypto trading in India.

The Indian crypto industry is facing yet another challenge as many Indian banks and payment service providers have halted their services to crypto exchanges. As a result, users have been unable to make fiat deposits to their crypto-exchange wallets.

FM urges IMF to develop globally coordinated approach to crypto asset regulations

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday held a discussion with IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva and urged the multi-lateral funding agency to develop a globally coordinated approach to the regulation of crypto assets. The Finance Minister held a virtual conversation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) MD to discuss the upcoming G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru later this month.?

Sitharaman also thanked IMF for the support that it had been providing to the G20 Indian presidency on various work streams under the G20 Finance Track.

The Finance Ministry in a series of tweets said Georgieva congratulated India on its strong economic performance in challenging global times and its role at the forefront of digitalisation of the economy, especially in the area of digital payments.
