The U.K. has been one of the countries to confirm that their economic situation is close to a recession. Brexit, high energy prices, and stubborn inflation have weighed heavily on the country. England's workers' unions oppose the government's reforms as London awaits the last GDP of the year. The National Union of Railway, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) agreed to further negotiations with rail operators, but a widespread agreement is yet to be reached. Around 1,000 Border Force staff from airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, and Birmingham, will strike from Friday to Boxing Day. Christmas disruption looks set to continue for those sending gifts and cards, with Royal Mail workers striking on the 23 and 24 in one final bout of action during the festive period. Both the Scottish and British governments are doing everything in their power to put an end to the strike action that is threatening the upcoming GDP for the year.
