Now let’s not forget recent history called Napster and Limewire. I won’t ask you to raise your hand if you stole music, but when the music industry refused to embrace the file sharing,?it didn’t work out so well and eventually shifted the power into the hands of the artists at some level. Which turned out being good for independents. Music streaming came along and we’ve seen the industry grow to record levels and more economic equality than ever.?
One of the significant impacts of AI on the entertainment business is in content creation. AI is being used to analyze vast amounts of data to gain insights into what audiences want to watch. With this data, entertainment companies can create more personalized content that appeals to a broader range of viewers. For example, Netflix uses AI to analyze user data to recommend movies and TV shows based on the viewer's previous watching history. AI is also being used to create original content, with companies such as ScriptBook using AI algorithms to analyze screenplays and predict their success at the box office.
AI is also being used to enhance the viewing experience for audiences. Virtual and augmented reality technologies are being used to create immersive experiences that transport viewers into the worlds of their favorite movies and TV shows. AI is also being used to improve the quality of video streaming by optimizing the delivery of video content to different devices and networks. For example, Netflix uses AI to adjust the video quality based on the viewer's internet connection, ensuring a seamless viewing experience. CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’S INCEPTION in real time.
AI is also being used to automate repetitive tasks in the entertainment industry, such as video editing, sound mixing, and post-production. AI algorithms can analyze footage and automatically select the best shots, apply special effects, and adjust the sound levels, saving time and reducing costs.
Currently the WGA (Writers Guild of America) is on strike to counter the very presence of AI in creative content ie?scripts and credit allocated. The capitalistic nature of the studios are not above replacing 5-10 writers or all for that?matter with machine learning, if it saves a buck. They did it with streaming… they will do it again. However, I think it may be too late. We are too deep in. You can’t un-internet the internet. Most platforms are open source so it’s literally the Wild Wild West when it comes to functionality.
What can we do but embrace the new tech and?accept our fates? Its inevitable like my good friend Thanos would say? Maybe Sway has the answers.
